Saturday started out very cold and very wet. It rained for our entire drive from Lancaster to Harrisburg, but we had a truck bed of clothes and toys that we’ve outgrown, we knew there was a truck full of free food waiting for us at The Mansion, and we had two little one in the backseat who were excited to help serve. Shortly after we got there, the Blessings of Hope truck pulled up and everyone got to work unloading. At first, the rain kept people away and kept me and the kids inside, but as the rain let up, more and more came. We loved spending our morning with some of the other LCMI volunteers, residents from the neighborhood and Alisia and Joe who are with Food from the King. Some came alone, some came with their children, some had lost everything in a fire, and everyone had smiles on their faces. We can’t wait until next time and hope to be able to help even more.
